Senior Accountant (Accountant 3)

The Secretary of State is looking for an experienced accountant to act as our lead accountant for the Secretary of State’s office. Along with an Accountant 2, the Senior Accountant (Accountant 3) will perform daily accounting processes as needed. Furthermore, the position is responsible for developing accounting policies and procedures and monitoring compliance with agency and state accounting policies.

The successful candidate will also complete the annual GAAP package, and act as a liaison to the Auditor of State by gathering documentation for the annual audit. Finally, the candidate will serve as subject matter expert on topics such as researching grant questions, annual financial reporting, and serving as a subject matter expert on state accounting procedures.
