DAVID R. PETERS, CPA, CFP, MST, CPCU, CLU

David Peters is the Founder and Owner of Peters Professional Education and Peters Tax Preparation & Consulting, PC. He is also a financial advisor for Peters Financial, LLC. David has over twenty years of experience in financial services, including 3 years in the hedge fund industry and 14 years in the insurance industry. David was the first-ever Chief Financial Officer at Compare.com - a position he held for more than three years.
In addition to running his own professional education website, David is a National Instructor for the AICPA, Surgent, Kaplan, and Don Farmer Tax Seminars. He was a recipient of Surgent's Outstanding Discussion Leader award in 2019 and 2022, as well as the AICPA's Outstanding Facilitator Award in 2021 and 2023. He regularly teaches courses in accounting, finance, insurance, financial planning, and ethics throughout the United States. David holds four masters degrees, and is currently pursuing his PhD in Financial Planning. He contributes regularly to various CPA publications, including NCACPA's Interim Report, SCACPA's CPA Report, and VSCPA's Disclosures. David was also a co-author of the 2018, 2019, and 2020 Virginia CPA Ethics courses - a required course for all CPA's licensed in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Erik Dominguez

As an immigrant who grew up between two cultures and mixed messages, the familiarity Erik has with speaking fears, fueled him to learn and share the tools to overcome those obstacles. For nearly 25 years, Erik’s team-oriented speaking and teaching style has centered around shared experiences, a philosophy that everyone has a unique story, and a belief that everyone can share their minds and hearts through powerful presentations.

James Martin, CPE Instructor/Vendor, Real World Seminars of Georgia LLC

James (Jim) Martin, CPA, CGMA, is a true general practitioner who, for 39 years, has specialized in both income tax and accounting and audit areas. In addition to serving the accounting and tax needs of 150 clients, Jim performs 75-80 continuing education seminars per year for CPAs and attorneys throughout the United States. Jim's philosophy of CPE is simple: spend time on topics of applicability and relevance to all and present the topics in an entertaining and fast-moving manner. Jim also regularly consults with CPA firms throughout the United States on a variety of accounting and auditing technical issues and serves as expert counsel in litigation manners.

Jann Freed, Adjunct Professor, University of Iowa Henry B Tippie College of Business

After a 30-year career at Central College, Jann Freed, PhD, is professor emerita of business management and the former Mark and Kay De Cook Endowed Chair in Leadership and Character Development.  
Currently, Dr. Jann is a leadership development consultant who helps engage employees, develop leaders, and help people find meaning on a daily basis. She does this through leadership coaching, corporate workshops, and speaking. Jann’s focus is helping individuals and organizations get from where they are to where they want to be at every age and stage of life.
Jann is the author of several books and articles about continuous improvement in leadership and life. Her book Leading with Wisdom: Sage Advice from 100 Experts is based on more than 100 interviews with some of the top thought leaders in the field. Jann’s latest book, Breadcrumb Legacy: How Great Leaders Live a Life Worth Remembering, is based on interviews and describes how to live a life that matters on a daily basis—a concept she calls breadcrumb legacy™. 
In addition, Jann writes a column in Training Magazine called “Leading Edge” and is a contributor to Forbes.com writing about the nonfinancial aspects of retirement. Occasionally, Jann writes a guest column for the Business Record and DSM Magazine. As an adjunct professor for The University of Iowa, she teaches a graduate leadership course.
As a certified Sage-ing Leader through Sage-ing International (sage-ing.org), Jann hosts a monthly podcast Becoming a Sage where she interviews thought leaders about wisdom in work and in life. Jann was a TEDxDes Moines speaker—“Embracing Death: Seeing Life Through a Different Lens.” She also gave a virtual talk at TEDxBergen Community College—“Becoming a Nobody.”
Community leadership is a priority. She is a member of the Mind and Spirit Counseling Center Board (MSCC) and the Greater Des Moines Public Art Foundation. Jann has served as a director on the Bank Iowa Board and a commissioner on the Planning and Zoning Commission for the city of Des Moines. Over the years, she has also served on Eat Greater Des Moines, Chrysalis Foundation, Planned Parenthood Advocate Board, and Nexus Women’s Executive Alliance. She has actively been involved in the leadership of several fundraising campaigns such as the Lauridsen Skatepark, the Airport Project at the Greater Des Moines Public Art Foundation, Planned Parenthood, A Mid-Iowa Organizing Strategy (AMOS), MSCC, and The Varsity Theater. Recently, Jann was recognized as one of eight women for the Women of Influence 2024 by the Business Record.
