Rosenbaum receives ISCPA’s 2026 Public Service Award

The Iowa Society of CPAs is proud to recognize Twyla Rosenbaum, CPA, as the recipient of the 2026 Public Service Award.
The award recognizes an ISCPA member who has demonstrated an exceptional personal commitment to community, charitable, civic and public service while enhancing the professional image of CPAs.
Twyla’s career and service reflect that commitment in countless ways. After beginning her career in public and industry accounting, she brought more than 20 years of professional experience into the classroom. She taught accounting and business at Morningside University for more than two decades before retiring in May 2026.
Throughout her career as an educator, Twyla’s impact extended well beyond teaching accounting principles. She invested deeply in her students as a mentor, welcomed students into her home for meals and quietly helped support experiences for students who otherwise may not have been able to participate.
She also made community service an important part of the student experience. Each fall, Twyla led members of Morningside’s Accounting Club in volunteer activities for Iowa CPAs Month of Service, including serving at the Siouxland Food Bank and packing backpacks with food for students experiencing food insecurity. She also led Morningside’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program, helping connect students with opportunities to serve while gaining valuable professional experience.
Twyla’s own community involvement has been equally extensive. She has volunteered with organizations including the Siouxland Food Bank and Camp High Hopes and has held leadership roles within professional organizations.
Her commitment to public service has also included civic advocacy. Twyla successfully advocated for a change in South Dakota law allowing residents to fly military flags regardless of homeowners association restrictions.
Throughout her career, Twyla has remained deeply committed to the CPA profession. She has served on the ISCPA Board of Directors, including as secretary, and has contributed her time and expertise through the Iowa CPA Education Foundation, Month of Service Committee, Academic & Career Development Community and CPA Licensure Pathways Task Force.
Through decades of mentorship, volunteerism, leadership and advocacy, Twyla has made a meaningful impact on students, colleagues and communities. ISCPA is proud to recognize her commitment to serving others with the 2026 Public Service Award.
