Munsell honored with 2026 Rising Star Award

An ISCPA member since 2023, Alexis is an Audit & Assurance Senior with Deloitte in Des Moines, where she serves public and private clients in the power and utilities, renewable energy and nonprofit industries. In just a few years with the firm, she has taken on significant leadership responsibilities, including managing audit teams across multiple states and countries and helping onboard and train interns and new professionals.

Alexis' leadership also extends beyond her client work. She is passionate about helping students explore the possibilities of a career in accounting. As a local leader of Deloitte’s Academy program, she helps introduce high school students to careers in business and accounting. In 2025 alone, the Des Moines program reached more than 200 students.

She is also actively engaged with ISCPA, serving on multiple committees and encouraging colleagues to become members and participate in programs and events. Alexis leads Deloitte’s annual Iowa CPAs Month of Service activities and has contributed her time to initiatives including the Academic & Career Development Community and High School Accounting Showcase.

Alexis also invests in the development of those around her. She recruits, trains and mentors younger professionals, facilitates learning and development programs and serves as an onboarding adviser for interns and new hires. She has also played an important role in encouraging Deloitte team members to join ISCPA and become more involved in the profession.

Her nominator described her passion for the profession as contagious, noting the positive impact she makes within Deloitte and throughout the broader community.

Through her leadership, service and enthusiasm for the CPA profession, Alexis is already helping shape its future. ISCPA is proud to recognize her contributions with the 2026 Rising Star Award.
