Staff Accountant

Main Job Responsibilities

- Preparation of monthly financial statements and reconciling of general ledger accounts

- Preparation and review of financial reports

- Review revenue/expense accounts and variation analysis

- Preparation of customer payments for posting to A/R Ledger

- Assist with PPE activity and reconciliations

- Assist with preparation of state tax reports

- Assist with audits

- Assist with purchase order process

- Participate in process improvements within Accounting and Licensing areas

- Work on special projects and other duties as assigned

Education and Experience

- Degree with major in accounting or equivalent accounting experience

- 2+ years professional accounting experience

Skills and Personal Characteristics

- Comfortable in fast paced, high intensity transportation accounting environment

- Planning and organizational skills

- Strong computer skills/technology proficiency in Microsoft excel and word

- Interpersonal skills, i.e. ability to confront and resolve conflict, and build team spirit within and between departments

- Creative and proven analytical and problem-solving skills

- Desire to be a leader within the organization
