Make an impact, meet the challenge
The giving season is just around the corner. If you are looking to give back to the profession, the Iowa CPA Education Foundation is a great option. To encourage some light-hearted competition, we are once again calling on donors to name their college of choice for foundation contributions from now through Dec. 15. One school will be crowned this year’s challenge champion. For those keeping stats, UNI took the honors in 2019, Wartburg won in 2020, and The University of Iowa topped the list in 2021.
You can help claim the title for your favorite school with our 2022 Impact Challenge campaign. Let's see your school spirit as we make an impact for students with foundation scholarships. Remember, ANY amount you contribute goes toward scholarships to help individuals become CPAs. Yes, $20, $30, $50 all directly help fund the awards.
Many firms and businesses rely on a steady stream of CPA candidates coming out of colleges. Trends are showing fewer students choosing to pursue accounting. We believe we can turn this around, and it begins long before stepping on a college campus. High school students need to know that accounting is key to every industry and business. That’s why members’ classroom presentations with ISCPA’s acCOUNTing ME IN material is important in Iowa. To ensure the next generation is ready, we need to get students interested in accounting degrees. The foundation helps deserving accounting students through scholarship awards.
We’re spotlighting the future of the profession with the 2022 Impact Challenge, and we will see which college wins bragging rights by accumulating the most points.
- For every $10 you donate to the foundation, the school of your choice is awarded one impact point. Example: $50 donation = 5 impact points for your chosen school.
- You must enter your school’s name in the comment box with your contribution on the web form found at www.iacpa.org/foundation.
- The college with the most impact points awarded through contributions received by Dec. 15 wins the 2022 Impact Challenge.
- ISCPA CEO Dawn Latham will sport the winning school's colors for a photo on social media and in Iowa CPA.
Too often, members think there is a minimum contribution level for Iowa CPA Education Foundation gifts. While contributions of $1,000 and higher are recognized with a leaf on the foundation wall of honor in ISCPA’s office, donations of all sizes make a difference. The foundation’s purpose
Established in 2014, the Iowa CPA Education Foundation supports the future of the profession by providing scholarships and financial assistance to individuals who want to become certified public accountants in the state of Iowa. Thanks to the foundation, we’ve granted 32 scholarships since 2015 to Iowa college students with seven awarded in 2022.
