Inspire students, share the profession

December 9, 2021

Want to help inspire the next generation of CPAs? We currently have opportunities for outreach to high schools and would love to hear from members interested in sharing their passion for the profession. Classroom presenters allow students and teachers to discover the many paths available in the accounting profession. The best people for that job are CPAs! The more presenting members we have, the more students we can reach.

We invite members to volunteer for classroom visits (virtual or in-person) using our “acCOUNTing ME IN” interactive presentation. We offer a video, a volunteer manual, a PowerPoint presentation, and include a flexible script for member CPAs to use when talking to students about options available in the accounting profession.

On the college level, this year’s career outreach took a new approach. Instead of a virtual career showcase event for student members to ask questions throughout the day, ISCPA hosted two college speed networking sessions designed to help students build professional networks, explore accounting career fields, and practice making a good impression on potential employers. An exciting new approach for accounting students.
