7:00am - 7:50am The Dark Triad of Ethicality: How Illusory Superiority, Bounded Ethicality, and Confirmation Bias Impact Ethical Decision-Making
While financial professionals often have the best intentions, certain mental processes can interfere with objectivity. Three particular maladies, referred to as illusory superiority, bounded ethicallity and confirmation bias, can indirectly lead to flawed conclusions and examinations — which can directly affect credibility. This session will uncover methods to ensuring a fair and impartial fraud examination can be conducted. Attend this session and receive one (1) additional hour of CPE credit (9 hours total).

- Determine how perception affects decision-making
- Evaluate methods to mitigate the negative effects of power and myopic vision
